"豫章",是春秋战国时代长江北岸的地名,西汉初年开始是最高地方行政区"郡"的名称。豫章郡之得名,流行的说法是因境内多大樟树。随着行政区制度演变,豫章郡级别下降,辖区缩小,由管辖江西全境退为只辖赣北南昌地区,隋唐时退出行政区系列。然而历史古老,社会影响大,豫章成了闻名的"郡望",既代指南昌,也代称江西行省。历代著述、故里乡贯、书院学校、人物别号等,都有冠以"豫章"的。豫章,承载着中华传统文化,久享盛誉,沿用不衰。

Abstract:

“Yuzhang” was a place name in the northern shore of the Yangtze River in the Spring and Autumn Warring States period,in the early Western Han Dynasty,it was the name of the highest local administrative region “Prefecture”.The reason why it was called “Yuzhang Prefecture” was because there were many large camphor trees in the “Prefecture”.With the evolution of the administrative system,the administrative level of “Yuzhang Prefecture” decreased,and its jurisdiction areas shrank,from the whole territory of Jiangxi to the northern part of Jiangxi and Nanchang,and withdrew from the administrative region series in Sui and Tang Dynasties.However,“Yuzhang Prefecture” becomes a well-known “Prefecture” for its ancient history and social influences.It refers to not only Nanchang,but also Jiangxi Province.“Yuzhang” can be seen in ancient writings,hometowns,schools,characters alias,etc.“Yuzhang” carries the traditional Chinese culture,and enjoys a long-standing reputation,and continues to be used.
