《红楼梦》在历代传播过程中多次被“污名化”,尤其是被贴上“诲淫”的社会标签与“叙满”“排满”的民族标签,使得《红楼梦》的社会身份经历多次变动。历代读者会根据不同时期的社会需求,以贴标签的形式任意解构与重构《红楼梦》的文本意义。这使得历代读者的评论往往聚焦于社会功用而非文学审美趣味,严重影响了《红楼梦》的社会美誉度。与此同时,另一些读者进行了诸多去“污名化”的努力,主张回归《红楼梦》“文学上之价值”。而“污名化”与去“污名化”的交织论争,是彼时知识阶层经历社会诸多变革之后深思古代小说存在意义的结果,以便对《红楼梦》的社会价值提出更合理的意见,从而更包容地对待《红楼梦》的多样旨趣与多元价值。
Abstract:
A Dream of Red Mansions had been stigmatized many times in the process of disseminationin the past dynasties.In particular,the social label of “obscenity” and the ethnic label of “Xu Man” and “Exclusion of Manchus” have made the social identity of A Dream of Red Mansions undergo many changes.Readers in previous dynasties would deconstruct and reconstruct the textual meaning of A Dream of Red Mansions in the form of labels according to the social needs of different periods.As a result,the comments of readers in previous dynasties tended to focus on the social function rather than the aesthetic taste of literature,which seriously affected the social reputation of A Dream of Red Mansions.At the same time,some other readers made a lot of efforts to remove the “stigmatization” and advocated a return to the “literary value” of A Dream of Red Mansions.The intertwined debates between “stigmatization” and “de-stigmatization” was the result of the intellectuals' deep thinking about the significance of ancient novels after experiencing many social changes at that time,so as to put forward more reasonable opinions on the social value of A Dream of Red Mansions,and to treat the multiple purports and values of the novel with more inclusive approaches.
