从马尔库塞、莱斯到高兹,他们在把法兰克福学派对发达工业社会的哲学文化批判转变成为一种对资本主义社会的现实批判的同时,把古典马克思主义意义上对资本主义制度的政治经济学批判转变成一种对资本主义制度的政治生态学批判。基于此,当时任职于加拿大滑铁卢大学的本·阿格尔在1979年出版的《西方马克思主义导论》中,将莱斯的两部著作盛赞为对一种生态马克思主义观点的"最清楚、最系统表述",并宣布了生态马克思主义作为一个西方马克思主义新支派和环境政治社会理论新流派的诞生。
Abstract:
From Marcuse,Leiss to Gorz,they changed the Frankfurt School's cultural critigue of philosophy to the developed industrial society into a realistic critigue of the capitalism system,meanwhile,they changed the critique of political economy of the capitalist system in the classical Marxist sense into the critique of political ecology of the capitalist system.Based on this,in An Introduction to the Western Marxism published in 1979,Agger,who worked in University of Waterloo,Canada at that time,highly praised two works written by Leiss as “the clearest,most systematic interpretation” on a view of Ecological Marxism,and announced the birth of Ecological Marxism,as a new tribe of Western Marxism and a new genres of environment political and social theory.
