摘要:
法律规范的统一性在英译中颇为重要,然而,由于中国和英美国家之间的法律制度、法律概念和术语等方面存在差异,中国的一些法律概念和术语有时很难在英语法律词典中找到完全等值的词语,加之译者在法律知识方面的欠缺,呈现出法律规范翻译中的"百鸟争鸣"局面。比较了权威的法律翻译网站和出版物的法律文本译文,分析了法律规范翻译中的不统一性问题,并提出一管之见。
Abstract:
Unity is quite important in translation of laws and regulations. However,due to the differ-ences between China and English -speaking countries in legal system,terminology and other as-pects,it is sometimes difficult to find a perfect match in English for terms and concepts in Chinese law. In addition to varying competence of translators,there are usually"more than one versions"for the same legal instrument in practice. In this paper,translations on some authoritative legal transla-tion websites and of publishing houses are compared,the disunity in translations and the reasons thereof are analyzed,and some suggestions for improvement are offered.
