Title:: Free and Easy Philosophy with Subtle Common Sense——On the Successful Creation of The Importance of Living from the Perspective of Communication

摘要:: "两脚踏东西文化"的林语堂,了解西方异质文化的优长与缺陷,也体认到中国文化的缺陷与优长。他以审美的眼光看待吃、喝、玩、乐等世俗化的寻常人生,表现中产阶级以及市民阶层的生存境遇,使人感到生命的快乐。他将哲学拉回到现实生活中,哲学的严肃性在他笔下成了生活的轻逸性。《生活的艺术》用渐近自然的风格,消除了语言华丽、夸炫,也不特别注重审美技艺,少了逻辑,却多了常识,能让一般人明白、理解、接受。中国传统文化和生活艺术被他以另外一个语言系统解读之后,面貌焕然一新,从而也确立了他在国际文坛的地位。

Abstract:: LIN Yutang,"One foot standing on eastern culture,another on western culture",understood the advantages and disadvantages of Western culture as well as Chinese culture.He views the secular life,such as eating,drinking,playing,etc.from the perspective of aesthetics,embodies the living condition of middle class and common citizens,and makes people feel the joy of life.He tried to pull the philosophy back to the real life,and made the seriousness of philosophy become free and easy."The Importance of Living",written in a simple natural style,abandons gorgeous and dazzling language,and pays less attention to the aesthetic technique.Although lacking logic,it gains more common sense,allowing ordinary readers to know,understand and finally accept.The traditional Chinese culture and art of living,reinterpreted by LING Yutang in another language system,have taken on a new look,which establishes his position in the international literature.
