"红色"陕北民歌是革命历史时期所产生的民歌,具有革命性、纪实性、口语化等特点,这些特点及陕北民歌歌唱的特性决定了在翻译"红色"陕北民歌时应遵循以下三个原则:语义上力求忠实于原文,以直译为主、意译为辅;译文音节数尽量等于或少于原文;译文语言力求口语化。用这三个原则分析对比《东方红》两个英译本,可以看出以上原则在两个译本中都有所体现,从而印证了三原则的可行性。
Abstract:
Revolutionary folk songs of Northern Shaanxi areas,produced in the certain revolutionary periods,are characterized by being revolutionary,documentary and colloquial.Those characteristics,together with the ways of singing,decide that the translation of Northern Shaanxi folk songs should follow three principles.First,the translation should be faithful to the source text in meaning,giving literal translation priority over free translation.Second,the syllables of the translated version should be the same or fewer than those of the source text.Third,the language of the translation should be colloquial.With the three principles as the guidance,the comparative study of the two English versions of Dong Fang Hong can be carried out.The result shows that the three principles are all reflected in the above versions,so a conclusion can be drawn that the three principles are feasible.
