摘要:
《英语专业本科教学质量国家标准》(简称《国标》)终于诞生。在国家进行“双一流”建设和“一带一路”建设的大背景下,我国高校英语教育的主要矛盾已转变为国家要求培养大学生——未来科技人员在他们学科领域内具有较强国际竞争力与我国英语专业教育单一英美语言文学方向设置不能充分满足这种要求的矛盾。按理说,新颁布的《国标》应该有所作为,但我们发现《国标》的英语专业新教学定位和培养目标依然没有摆脱传统英语专业教学的理念,结果是新瓶装老酒。真正的转型,英语专业必须大幅度压缩英美语言文学方向的招生,按照学校的办学定位要求,大力培养各学科的专业用途英语人才。我们提出一个专门用途英语复合型人才培养模式,并进行分析。
Abstract:
The National Quality Standards for Foreign Language Majors(Standards) has been released recently.Under the background of constructing “Double First-Class” universities and disciplines as well as the Belt and Road initiative,to address the national requirement to equip university students-the future scientists and engineers with the stronger international competitiveness in their disciplines has become the chief task in teaching English Majors.Obviously the current English Undergraduate Program(EUP)is unsuited to the task and thus it is expected the newly released Standards might make a difference.However,it fails to live up to the expectations and the teaching objective of the EUP remains unchanged.A real paradigm shift is necessary in the EUP.The EUP in most universities and colleges should aim at teaching English for Specific Purposes in accordance with particular institutional and disciplinary needs.We propose an ESP-guided model for the development of compound talents.
