摘要:
作为语言控制标记,转换代价不对称性和语言优势效应所呈现的实验研究结果颇具争议。已有元分析指出,这两种效应在产出任务中缺乏稳健性。本研究使用软件CMA(3.0)和R的metafor包,对理解任务文献进行元分析,合并20篇文献的31个独立样本中提取的62个效应量,评估两种效应大小及其潜在调节变量。结果显示,转换代价不对称性效应和语言优势效应均不显著; 语言熟练度能调节转换代价不对称性,但不影响语言优势效应; 准备时间不产生显著调节效应。研究结果进一步证明,这两大效应在理解任务中也不具有普遍性,其调节变量亦不明确。
Abstract:
As language control markers,the results of experimental studies on asymmetrical switch costs and the language dominance effect are quite controversial.A meta-analysis has shown that these two effects lack robustness in the output task.In this study,we used software CMA(3.0)and R's metafor package to conduct a meta-analysis of the understanding task literature,combining 62 effect sizes extracted from 31 independent samples of 20 literatures to evaluate the two effect sizes and their potential moderating variables.The results show that asymmetrical switch costs and the language dominance effect are not significant.The language proficiency can adjust asymmetrical switch costs,but does not affect the language dominance effect.The preparation time did not have a significant moderating effect.The results further demonstrate that these two effects are also not universal in comprehension tasks,and their moderating variables are not well defined.
