汉代的三老在乡、县、郡、国四个层级皆有设置,可以确定身份者西汉以县三老为多,东汉则多见国三老。县三老在职掌、选拔、作用等方面与乡三老差别较大,而与郡三老较相似。不同层级的三老并无上下级隶属关系,但在某些特定的场合存在协作关系。国三老有两种类型,身份和作用主要在于荣誉和礼仪方面。
Abstract:
In the Han Dynasty,there were four hierarchies of San Lao:township,county,prefecture, state. Of which most of the county San Lao could be identified in the Western Han Dynasty,while in the Eastern Han Dynasty more of the state San Lao could be identified. County San Lao was different from township San Lao in many aspects such as official duties,selection,function,etc. However,pre-fecture San Lao was similar to San Lao of other three levels in many aspects. There were no subordi-nation relations among San Laos of different hierarchies,but there were collaborative relationships a-mong them in certain specific occasions. There were two types of state San Laos,whose identity and role were mainly a point of honor and reflected in etiquettes.
